What kind of grass can I grow in the shade?

We get this question alot, and you will not like my answer.  All turf grass grown in Florida likes full sun.  Will some varieties take a little shade? Yes.  Will they be as thick in the shade as in the sun?  No.  If you have an area that is extremely shady, grow a groundcover there or mulch the area.  Most sod companies will tell you that they have a grass that will grow in that environment, and they will for a short period of time before they get diseased and slowly die out.  Give us a call and we can help you decide whether you can grow grass in an area.
