Supporting the Next Generation of Growers

Last weekend at the Strawberry Festival, we had the opportunity to purchase several beautiful plants grown by local FFA students. These young growers spent months caring for their plants, nurturing them from seedlings and preparing them for judging at the festival.

We are proud to now offer some of those plants here at the nursery, including a Champion blueberry plants grown by an FFA student. The dedication and care that went into growing it truly shows.

You will also find several other plants raised by these hardworking students, including:
  • Yellow Plumerias
  • Shooting Star
  • Knockout Roses ‘Orange
  • Glow’
  • Gardenias
  • Gold Dust Crotons
  • Clusia
Take a look at the photos of these incredible plants and stop by the nursery to see them in person.

March Tip: Pruning Cold Damage

You can now start pruning your cold damaged plants.  New buds should be starting to come out, but if you aren’t sure, scrape the bark and check for living or dead tissue.  Living tissue will be green or white.  Dead tissue will be black or brown.  You can cut back any dead limbs.  Herbaceous annuals that have collapsed should be removed to prevent disease spread.
